I wish we’d step away from the “is pornography okay/not okay” and “is watching porn morally acceptable or is it morally offensive.” At the end of the day, one person’s moral verdict isn’t helpful or practical when held up against what it’s scientifically doing to individuals and relationships.

If you are dealing with pornography in your relationship or in your life, I encourage you to stop reading arguments that are pro/anti porn viewing from a moral perspective, but do some legitimate research on the proven medical consequences. Be concerned with the damage its potentially doing to your mind, your personality, and your self control – and your relationships, and less concerned with someone’s opinion of your sin or righteousness.

And if you’re a Christian and offended by my “proven consequences are more helpful than moral verdicts” statement, keep in mind that I believe in a God who determined morals based on what’s scientifically healthy for our hearts, our bodies, and our relationships - not a God who has been dealing out rules for the sake of a power trip.
